Start your new pup on the path to becoming a well mannered dog. Early socialization and training play a major role in the rest of your dogs life. This class combines puppy play time education and training. In this class you will increase your knowledge of dog behavior, training methods, care and development. Your pup will begin learning basic obedience skills though games, simple exercises and positive reinforcement. The sit, down, come, leash manners, and stay will all be covered. Issues like jumping and chewing and housebreaking are also covered. This class is fun for your pup and your whole family.

Dog Romp Level One, All The Basics Plus Fun!

A great starting point. If you want your dog to eagerly perform basic behaviors with enthusiasm this is the class for you. This class covers basic obedience skills including sit, down, leash manners, come, stay and polite greeting. A bit of extra fun rounds out his class by including a short course that includes heeling skils, a tunnel and pause table. Dogs learn to focus and perform on leash and off. This class is designed to set the foundation for a great companion dog, therapy dog or sporting dog. A great first step towards an AKC Canine Good Citizen, or therapy dog certification.

Romp Level Two, Beyond the Basics!

Beyond the performance of basic skills. Help your dog become focused and reliable. This class covers additional behaviors like "Leave It", "Give" and the skills needed for AKC Canine Good Citizen Test and Love on a Leash Therapy Dog Test. This class also includes a bit Rally Obedience, Wag It Games and off leash work.

APDT Rally Obedience Classes
Rally Obedience
The popularity of Rally Obedience is on the rise in Maine. And for good reason. Rally builds relationship, obedience skills while retaining fun! It is open to pure or mixed breed dogs. It does not take athletic skill to participate and is even open to physically challenged handlers and dog. Wag It will host three Rally Competitions this year in 2010. So you can train and compete close to home. Rally competitors follow a course heeling and performing a variety of turns and stationary skills. APDT takes it one step further including jumps and retrieves.
Classes are taught by Sumac and or Annette MacNair.
Sumac is the first APDT Rally Representative in Maine and the first fully approved judge in New England. Sumac currently competes with her Border Collie, Phoebe whol was ranked 11th in the United States in 2008 in Rally Level 3 Rally. They received awards for excellence in completing their Level 1 and Level 2 titles with outstanding scores. They have earnd the title of ARCHX an upper level APDT championship and their Rally NOvice title in AKC Rally.
Annette MacNair is an APDT Rally level 2 judge and representative. She and her Golden Retriever Grace Ranked 9th in the US in 2009 in the US. They hold the upper upper championship title ARCHX and have earned outstanding scores including perfect 210s. Annette and Grace have also earned heir AKC Rally Novice and Advanced titles.

Rally Obedience should be a joyful experience for both dog and
handler. This class will focus on teaching you and your dog the
basic skills for rally so your dog will heel and perform each
station with enthusiasm. Intro to Rally Obedience is a great class
for those interested in competing or just building focus, manners
and relationship. Both APDT and AKC exercises and rules are a
part of class.
Included in the class session: Heeling skills, turns, stays,
recalls, mini Rally courses and games. Smiles, wags and laughter
are also an important elements of this class.
